The short version
- You do not need an account to use the generator.
- Names are generated inside your browser. Your saved names and settings stay on your device.
- If you write to us, we use your message only to respond.
- We may use advertising and analytics partners. Where the law requires it, we ask for your consent first.
- You can ask us to access, correct, or delete your information at any time at hello@nuioner.online.
Who we are
This Privacy Policy applies to nuioner.online (the “Site”), which publishes the Drag King Name Generator (“we,” “us,” or “our”). For privacy questions or requests, email hello@nuioner.online or use our contact page.
Information we collect
Information you give us
If you use our contact form or email us, we receive your name, email address, the topic you choose, your message, and anything else you include. We use this only to read and answer your message.
Information stored on your device
The generator saves the names you favorite and your last-used settings (style, format, starting letter, batch size, and Cheeky mode) in your browser’s local storage. This information stays on your device. We do not receive it, and you can remove it at any time by clearing your browser’s site data.
What you type into the tool
The optional “Your first name” field is used inside your browser to build names. It is not sent to us and it is not stored.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our hosting provider and security services may automatically record technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser and device type, operating system, referring page, pages viewed, and the date and time of the request. This helps us keep the Site secure, fix errors, and understand how it performs.
Information from advertising and analytics partners
If we enable advertising or analytics, our partners may collect information through cookies and similar technologies, such as your IP address, device identifiers, approximate location, and pages you view. See “Advertising and analytics” below.
How we use information
- To respond to your messages and requests.
- To operate, maintain, secure, and troubleshoot the Site.
- To understand how visitors use the Site so we can improve the generator and our guides.
- To show advertising that helps fund the Site, where enabled.
- To prevent fraud, abuse, and invalid traffic.
- To meet legal obligations and protect our rights.
We do not use your information for automated decision-making that has legal or similarly significant effects.
Legal bases for processing (EEA, UK, and similar regions)
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or a region with similar laws, we rely on these legal bases:
- Consent for non-essential cookies and similar technologies, including most advertising and analytics. You can withdraw consent at any time.
- Legitimate interests in running, securing, and improving the Site and answering enquiries, balanced against your rights.
- Legal obligation where we must keep or disclose information by law.
Advertising and analytics
To keep the generator free, we may display advertising provided by third-party advertising partners, which can include ad management platforms, ad exchanges, and measurement providers. We may also use analytics tools to understand traffic.
When these services are active, they may set or read cookies and similar technologies to deliver ads, limit how often you see an ad, measure performance, detect invalid traffic, and, with your consent where required, personalize ads based on your interests. These partners act under their own privacy policies.
Your choices:
- Use the cookie or privacy settings on the Site when a consent banner is shown. You can change your choice later through the same control.
- Opt out of interest-based advertising in the US through the Digital Advertising Alliance or the Network Advertising Initiative.
- In Europe, visit Your Online Choices.
- Manage Google’s ad personalization at adssettings.google.com.
- Turn on a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal in your browser. We treat it as a request to opt out of sale or sharing where the law requires.
Opting out of personalized ads does not remove ads. You will still see ads, but they may be less relevant.
Cookies and local storage
We use your browser’s local storage for the saved-names and settings features. Advertising and analytics partners, if enabled, may use cookies. Our Cookies Policy lists what is stored, why, and how to control it.
How we share information
We share information only in these cases:
- Service providers that help us run the Site, such as hosting, security, email, and analytics providers, who may process information only on our behalf.
- Advertising partners, as described above, where advertising is enabled.
- Legal and safety reasons, when we must comply with law, respond to lawful requests, or protect rights, safety, and the integrity of the Site.
- Business changes, if the Site is transferred to a new owner, in which case this policy continues to apply.
We do not sell your personal information in exchange for money. Some state laws define “sale” or “sharing” broadly enough to include advertising cookies. If those cookies are active, you can opt out using the choices above.
How long we keep information
We keep messages only as long as needed to handle your request and keep reasonable records, then delete them. Server logs are kept for a limited period set by our hosting provider. Cookies expire according to the provider that sets them. Information in your browser’s local storage stays until you remove it.
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of these rights:
- to know what personal information we hold about you and to receive a copy;
- to correct inaccurate information;
- to delete your information;
- to restrict or object to certain processing;
- to withdraw consent at any time;
- to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information and of targeted advertising;
- to data portability, where the law provides it; and
- to not be treated unfairly for exercising your rights.
California and other US states. Residents of California and several other states have rights under laws such as the CCPA/CPRA. We have not sold personal information for money. To opt out of sharing for advertising, use the choices in “Advertising and analytics.”
EEA and UK. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.
To make a request, email hello@nuioner.online with the subject line “Privacy request.” We may need to verify your identity, and we will respond within the time required by law. You may use an authorized agent where the law allows it.
Children’s privacy
The Site is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, or knowingly allow them to be shown personalized advertising. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, email hello@nuioner.online and we will delete it.
Security
We serve the Site over HTTPS and collect as little information as we can. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
International transfers
Our service providers and partners may process information in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where the law requires it, we rely on appropriate safeguards for these transfers.
Third-party links
The Site may link to other websites. We do not control them and are not responsible for their privacy practices. Please read the privacy policy of any site you visit.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
There is no common standard for “Do Not Track” browser signals, so we do not respond to them. We do honor Global Privacy Control signals as an opt-out of sale or sharing where the law requires it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top shows the latest version. If we make a material change, such as adding a new type of tracking, we will update this page first and ask for consent where the law requires it.
